En relativt nybildad arbetsgrupp inom GBIF, Global Strategy and Action Plan for Digitisation and Mobilisation of Natural History Collections Data, uppmanar samlingspersonal vid naturhistoriska museer världen över att delta i undersökningen Natural History Specimen Digitisation: Challenges and Concerns (se länk nedan).
Undersökningen, som har tagits fram i samarbete med the Collections Web Research Coordination Network och Society for the Preservation of Natural History Collections, syftar till att ta fram praktisk information till samlingspersonal (föreståndare, intendenter, administratörer m.fl.) om de utmaningar som digitaliseringsarbete för med sig, och hur dessa utmaningar hanteras av olika samlingar. Undersökningen finns tillgänglig via Internet (se länk nedan) t.o.m. den 20 juni 2009. Det tar ca 35 minuter att besvara frågorna.
