Session 1 of Data Fika, GBIF Sweden's monthly online series on biodiversity data. What GBIF is and why open biodiversity data matters — DOIs, versioning and the data lifecycle, a first look at FAIR, and everyone pulls a first download.

We cover what GBIF is and why open biodiversity data matters, DOIs, versioning and the data lifecycle from a data user’s perspective, and take a first light look at the FAIR principles. The session ends with everyone pulling a first GBIF download.

Data Fika sessions are free, online and open to everyone — 20–30 minutes of presentation followed by about 15 minutes of hands-on work and Q&A. Email gbif@nrm.se to be added to the invitation list, and see the full programme on the Data Fika page.
